Support staff

The administrative tasks of the staffing agency of the EU institutions vary depending on the position. Usually, a secretary autonomously supports one or more persons or units of an institution gathering, transforming and disseminating information. The work may include:

·         preparing dossiers,
·         the organization and coordination of activities of the departments (meetings, official travel)
·         document management (receiving, processing, monitoring and archiving)
·         preparation, processing, completion and verification of documents,
·         Search, collection and dissemination of information.
In the translation departments, work can also include:
·         reception, management and processing of translation requests, in particular by preparing, processing and finalizing documents,
·         feeding and updating translation memories,
·         Tasks of word processing, page layout and formatting.
Performing secretarial tasks can also be assigned to contract staff.

Assistants working in the field of human resources perform management related to personnel policy in areas such as recruitment jobs, careers, training and equal opportunities.
The work may include:

·         management and monitoring of issues related to management personnel policy, particularly in relation to recruitment, careers, training, equal opportunities and individual and economic rights,
·         writing notes or correspondence and administrative reports on the areas listed above,
·         preparation and follow-up meetings,
·         project management,
·         analysis and development of working methods,
·         collaboration in the implementation of accounting, financial, statistical, computer, etc.,
·         managing a team.
Performing tasks in human resources can also be assigned to contract staff.
